      Hello,

I had a dataset (.xlsx) with several dozen of addresses written in German and when I tried to test my .json file after conversion the system wouldn't recognise it. I then retyped the addresses using English characters, converted the file again and voila - the problem was gone. I am therefore wondering if there is an issue with language settings whereby only English language is recognised when uploading the dataset? Would be great if someone could let me know.

      Thanks,

      Pasha

        Hello Pasha,
Your problem has to do with what is known as "character encoding", which is the way each character is represented digitally. English always works simply because there are no accents or special characters in the alphabet, which instead are there is most European languages. The digital representations of these "extra" characters are not always done in the same way. Citadel uses the international standard Unicode system, which unfortunately is different from what Microsoft uses, and to make things worse, Microsoft doesn't make it very easy to save a file using Unicode. If you Google "unicode microsoft" you can see some ways to address this problem, including instructions provided by Microsoft.
        Hope that helps,
        Jesse Marsh
