Data Days – Will you Scoop EUR 5,000, EUR 10,000 or even EUR 20,000?
To promote the exciting innovation possibilities made available through Open Data, DataDays are launching three new Hackathon competitions! The competitions are sponsored and supported by, CORVE, V-ICT-OR, iDROPS and OKFN Belgium.
1. CITADEL
Create an app that works across the whole of Europe!
4 cities in Europe - Athens, Manchester, Ghent or Issy-les-Moulineaux - are publishing their data to make it possible to create an app that will work in your city!
Join Citadel the Move. Make an app for your city. And win in a place in the finals during the Data Days conference in Ghent, Belgium. The winner will take home a prize of 5000 EUR and a trip to one of the four pilot cities to test the app there!
2. VKBO
Are you a programmer or designer? A hacker through and through?
If so you can be the first to start working on what may well be Flanders most valuable data set – the VKBO, ‘the Enhanced Crossroads Bank for Enterprises’ – in which all enterprises, schools, hospitals etc. are geographically localised. Using the VKBO and Uit datasets in Vlaanderen, you can develop an application, produce mashups or create visualisations and present them to the public.

3.iDrops
Over 30 ideas offering solutions to specific poverty related issues were conceived during eight creative miniLABs across Flanders. Hack For Good wants to turn these ideas into reality. We are asking digital developers, business developers, coders, programmers and hackers to pitch a plan to a panel of financiers on how to implement the ideas that they think are best. The best project will win EUR 10,000 to boost social innovation.
