Earlier this month Geert Mareels, Citadel’s partner and the manager of Flemish eGovernment Coordination Unit (CORVE), attended the third Global E-Government Forum in Astana, Kazakhstan, where more than 1,000 participants from over 79 countries gathered to discuss Smart Governance and how cutting-edge technologies and innovative practices can help address complex governance issues.
During the event Geert Mareels had an opportunity to showcase Citadel on the Move to a wide range of stakeholders, including government officials, scholars and experts from international and civil society organisations. In his presentation Geert Mareels discussed ways in which Open Data can facilitate innovation, as well as the future steps the Flemish Government has been planning to take in the area of e-governance.
